Bio

I was born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Growing up I was known as the outgoing one. (Maybe because I was often compared to my sister who was only ten months older than I was and was much quieter). I loved playing outside with the rest of the neighborhood kids.  I always enjoyed school, and have great memories of most of my teachers.  As I grew up I had opportunities to help teach toddlers and then later, elementary aged kids at my church.  When I was in Jr. High I began teaching with a small organization during the summers, and this continued until I went to college.  Because of a possitive experience at school and my exposure to teach in different situations I wanted to pursue teaching as a career.
The Fall after high school graduation I moved to San Jose, California to go to San Jose Christian College (now William Jessup University). Although moving from a small town to a big city was a cultural shock, the college years brought welcomed change in my life. The college was quite small at the time (approx. 400 students) yet it was diverse in culture (17 nationalities represented).  It gave a small town feel in the middle of a big city.  The cultural diversity all around me openned my eyes to many new opportunities as well as molding my world view. It was there that I met many life long friends, including my husband of 18 years, Martin (from Costa Rica).
We have two wonderful kids, Hannah and Josiah. As a family we enjoy going to the beaches, discovering new "day trips", and international travel.
